On Wednesday, 7th November, Chamber members Lightology teamed up with training provider MVRRS to conduct a free sustainability event at the University of Wales, Newport campus.
“An introduction to becoming a sustainable organisation” was the title.
The current Wales Sustainability Champion, Phil Williams spoke with real passion and knowledge about the subject of sustainability – this time with a focus on waste. The planet is rapidly running out of space and if we continue to produce waste at the current rate, the future looks bleak.
There was also a section around reducing waste and carbon footprint through implementing the latest lighting technology.
Attendees came from far and wide and there was informed and productive debate around a number of issues. Everyone left with some real food for thought and a determination to work to make their organisations a more sustainable one: –
“We do not inherit this world from our forefathers, we borrow it from our children.”
This half day event was one of a series of sustainability workshops run my MVRRS and organised by another Phil, Phil Jones. The full list for 2019 will soon be issued – if you would like to attend a future event, please email [email protected] or connect with him on LinkedIn.
